We left Burry Port near Carmarthen, on Monday exploring the cycle path the whole way to Port Talbot via the Mumbles and Swansea Bay. A great ride away from traffic, meeting fellow travellers along the way.
Now that the summer weather is here there are so many more people out and about – whether going about their normal daily lives, on holiday, travelling or just simply enjoying the sunshine. Many a cheery wave, a chat over a cup of coffee at a pit stop, and generally much support, interest and encouragement – all lifts one’s spirits enormously.
A friend from Suffolk came up to visit for a couple of days which was lovely. I took a day off from cycling. We walked the dogs instead along the coastal path near Cardiff and generally relaxed with good food and wine !
Oscar had a great time being with his friend too – no doubt telling doggy tales of life on the road !
It was then back on the road through Cardiff, Newport, Chepstow and over the River Severn back into England. Scotland and Wales behind us – yet another milestone reached !
We are now in Bristol with my son for a few days – a wonderful break and catch up time with the family. This week should see us in North Devon – ( more hills ?! ) – and listening to the forecast yet more rain and wind. At least it is warm !
