Maggie & Oscar went from Blyth to Hauxley on Friday & onto Craster on Saturday ready for a couple of days off to enjoy the finer weather over the Easter break. They are both in very good spirits after a chilled weekend with lots of eating, sleeping and walking particularly after the gruelling time they had last week with the ferocious winds, hail, snow, rain & bitter cold! Maggie has told us here at Dog Friendly how rewarding it is to see how far they have come already, feeling upbeat & ready to get back on the saddle yesterday for the journey to Bamburgh. Today they are visiting Holy Island & Farne Islands before heading to Berwick Upon Tweed tomorrow. They have visited a few dog friendly places along the way including Shoreline Cafe, The Jolly Fisherman, The Pack Horse Inn & The Drift Cafe as well as stopping with a DF member in Hauxley & at The Sunningdale last night.
Thank you to everyone who has offered accommodation for Maggie & Oscar – please keep them coming! You can either use the contact form on the website, contact through Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org
You can see lots of photos on the Dog on Tour Facebook page but below are some lovely ones of the duo from the past few days!
About to cross River Tyne from South Shields to North Shields
Pouring with rain so in need of a change of head gear – not very glamorous !
Refreshed after warming bowl of soup at the cafe – miserable day !
Early morning walk along beach at Roker-Sunderland. Look, calm sea, blue sky – no wind !
Oscar’s new girlfriend !
The pair in Warkworth on a lovely sunny morning
Thought the national Cycle Route 1 – coastal option – seemed a good idea. Proved to be quite an obstacle course for the next 5 miles. At least Oscar had good run and it was a stunning view all the way !
Enjoying the clear skies
Investigating the rocky pools at Craster
Oscar doing what he likes best !
